Chiswick Pier Trust

Chiswick Pier Trust is a charitable organisation that takes care and promotes a stretch of the Thames between Hammersmith and Barnes Bridges in beautiful South West London.

They needed to update their web presence with something a little more modern. The brief was wide: the site had to appeal to all users, both existing and new alike and cover all the Trust's activities: from hiring visitor moorings to passing boats, to keeping local residents both afloat and on land appraised of the latest happenings on this part of the river to promoting their many and varied activities.

With a large existing user group we needed to make sure the site would be simple to use, and not too unfamiliar, while, with the Trust's social media feeds coming online and the prospect of new users we also needed a design that would up the attractiveness stakes and offer an intuitive user experience. And of course we had to make sure that the river ran through it...

The final design managed, we think, to fulfill everything we needed. Good attractive images and spaces for additional visuals, simple but scaleable navigation and the calm Thames referenced through a blue and white flowing header - following an earlier design being said by one commenter as reminiscent more of a Tsunami than peaceful waters... The content keeps things simple, but with the options to add features such as slideshows, and with interactive communications such as online mooring bookings the Trust has a website that will ease their workload and admin at the same time as better promoting their activities.

We are proud to partner this local charity in promoting their work and wish them well in the future. Get over to www.chiswickpier.org.uk to see for yourself, or if you're wanting something similar then contact us about web development for charities
